Connected TV
Connected TV´s have applications that display content. The interface looks like a screen on a smartphone, and in many cases, the operative system behind is the same.
Most popular apps on Connected TV´s include Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Pandora, and Youtube.
Many TV´s are already connected by default. The TV manufacturers call them Smart TV. If the TV is not connected, users can plug in a device to connect them. Most popular offers are Chromecast from Google, Fire TV, from Amazon, Apple TV, from Apple and Roku.
Video ads are shown to viewers when they load a video on the application. Normally the ads can be pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll. SpotX reported explosive growth in OTT ad spends in 2017.
