YouTube this week partnered with Merchbar. YouTube will sell merchandise with placement below the videos on both mobile and desktop. Google says the merch shelf is a tremendous opportunity for artists to drive awareness and get their latest gear in the hands of fans.
Eligible artists with an Official Artist Channel and a Merchbar store with US fulfillment enabled can sign up for the merch shelf in YouTube Studio.
Google says that will be rolling out this feature in the US first and is working to expand internationally soon.
Merchbar carries over 1,000,000 items from 35,000 artists, being one of the largest music merchandise aggregator providers globally.
