Youtube’s competitor Facebook Watch goes global
Facebook Watch is now available anywhere, since August 29, 2018, after being launched in the US a year ago. According to Facebook, with the global expansion comes more opportunities for publishers. Facebook is expanding the Ad Breaks program so more partners can make money from the videos, and Facebook is offering new insights, tools and best practices for Pages in Creator Studio.
Facebook Watch “gives people a place on Facebook to find shows and video creators,” and Facebook says that every month, more than 50 million people in the US are watching videos for at least a minute in Watch. Total time spent watching videos on Facebook Watch has increased by 14X since the start of 2018.
