Axel Springer, one of the biggest publishers in Germany, filed a copyright lawsuit against the Eyeo, in Hamburg Regional Court, the Horizont reports. Eyeo main product is Adblock Plus.
"Advertising blockers change the programming codes of websites and thus directly interfere with the legally protected offerings of publishers," said Claas-Hendrik Soehring, Head of Media Law at Axel Springer, to Horizont.
Last year, Axel Springer lost the first lawsuit against Eyeo. Federal Court of Justice (BGH), Germany's highest civil court, has ruled that the online ad blocker AdBlock Plus doesn't violate competition laws.
