Cloudflare this week published its Browser Market Share Report for Q2 2024. According to the report, Chrome remains the dominant web browser, holding a market share of 65.158% as of June 2024. This places Chrome far ahead of its nearest competitor, Safari, which holds a market share of 15.751%. 

Other browsers included in the report are Edge (7.235%), Firefox (4.262%), Samsung Internet (2.740%), Opera (1.617%), Yandex Browser (0.984%), Brave (0.904%), UC Browser (0.367%), Huawei Browser (0.196%), DuckDuckGo (0.185%), QQ Browser (0.182%), Mi Browser (0.136%), Whale (0.094%), Aloha Browser (0.060%), Avast Secure Browser (0.046%), Oculus Browser (0.024%), Ecosia (0.021%), AVG (0.019%), and Wave Browser (0.010%). Notably, Puffin comes in last place at 0.004% market share.

Cloudflare's report leverages data gathered from its vast network, which spans more than 25 million internet properties across the globe. This unique position allows them to analyze anonymized data from their reverse proxy, including user-agent headers to estimate browser market share.

Apple's Safari web browser holds the dominant position on iOS

Apple's Safari web browser holds the dominant position on iOS devices with a market share of 81.882%. Chrome, the second most popular browser on iOS, trails far behind at 16.008%. The remaining browsers included in the report for iOS are DuckDuckGo (0.446%), Firefox (0.429%), Yandex Browser (0.364%), Edge (0.329%), UC Browser (0.199%), Aloha Browser (0.154%), QQ Browser (0.132%), Ecosia (0.033%), Opera (0.021%), and Puffin (0.004%).
