Facebook bans ads with Binary Options, ICO and Cryptocurrencies

Facebook created today a new policy prohibiting ads “that promote financial products and services that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices, such as binary options, initial coin offerings (ICOs) and cryptocurrencies.”

Rob Leathern, Product Management Director at Facebook said today that “misleading or deceptive ads have no place on Facebook” and these ads go against Facebook advertising principles: ads should be safe, and that Facebook builds for people first.

Facebook says the policy will be applied to Facebook, Audience Network, and Instagram, and this will enforce integrity and security of Facebook ads, making “harder for scammers to profit from a presence on Facebook.”
