Google is testing a tool that allow publishers (using Adsense or Doubleclick for Publishers – DFP) to ask users consent in compliance with GDPR. According to AdExchanger, Google’s consent tool is Funding Choices and restricts the number of supply chain partners a publisher can share consent with 12 vendors.
Funding Choices will be a Consent Management Platform (CMP), like OneTrust, integrated yesterday on the IAB Consent Framework.
Funding Choices is currently in Beta for selected publishers and was initially designed to be a solution for publishers that want to “recapture revenue that’s lost due to ad block usage. It presents visitors that have ad blockers installed with choices on how publishers want to fund your content.”
