Google this month announced it has now 57,000 public from India on Google Maps. The project of mapping the public toilets started in 2016, in 3 cities (New Delhi, Bhopal, and Indore), in a partnership between Google, and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs from the Indian Government.
Users in India only have to search ‘public toilets near me’ on Google Search, on Google Assistant or on Google Maps to receive the results nearby.
The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, through Google My Business, took ownership of the listings on Google Maps. The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs is able to monitor visits, ratings, and reviews.
