The share of Google Public DNS is above 40% in some countries, including Belgium. According to Google, in places like Africa and Southeast Asia, many ISPs use Google DNS as default DNS server. It’s estimated that about 10% of internet users rely on 22.214.171.124.
Recently, Google saw a very competitive player entering the market: Cloudflare with the 126.96.36.199 server. Cloudflare is fastest than Google and more private, as the queries go over TLS or HTTPS.
