Google updates Responsive Ad Unit in AdSense, publishers can now limit the height

Google this week announced that it has updated the Responsive Ad Unit in AdSense. The update was an improvement on the sizing to allow better performance on desktop, said Google in the help center.

Google this week announced that it has updated the Responsive Ad Unit in AdSense. The update was an improvement on the sizing to allow better performance on desktop, said Google in the help center.

AdSense publishers can now control the ad sizes on the Responsive Ad Unit. Until now, publishers had no control on the size of the displayed ads on the Responsive Ad Unit. Google says that as a result of this update, Responsive Ad Units can now resize the HTML parent container (e.g., ) that they’re within.

Google recommends that the Responsive Ad Units are not placed inside containers with a fixed or limited height.

According to Google, publishers that want to limit the height of the Responsive Ad Unit need to modify the responsive ad code. Here the available modifications.
