Triton Digital releases January 2024 U.S. Podcast Ranker
NPR News Now remained at #1, followed by Crime Junkie (#2) and Up First (#3).
Triton Digital today released its U.S. Podcast Ranker report for the January 2024 reporting period (January 1 - January 28). This report, based on data from Triton's Podcast Metrics measurement service, ranks podcasts and sales networks based on average weekly downloads and users.
Key findings:
- Top Sales Networks: SiriusXM Podcast Network maintained its lead with 38.1 million average weekly downloads and 12.1 million average weekly users. NPR followed at #2 with 27.0 million downloads and 7.3 million users, and Wondery ranked #3 with 22.2 million downloads and 6.9 million users.
- Top Podcasts by Downloads: NPR News Now remained at #1, followed by Crime Junkie (#2) and Up First (#3).
- Top Podcasts by Listeners: NPR News Now held the top spot, with Crime Junkie and Up First again at #2 and #3, respectively.
- New Entrants: New entries for both downloads and listeners include Dr. Death (Wondery), The Why Files: Operation Podcast (Audioboom), and State of the World from NPR (NPR). National Park After Dark (Audioboom) and The Sports Junkies (Audacy Podcast Network) made it onto the downloads list, while 1A (NPR) debuted on the listeners' ranking.
Methodology:
The Top Sales Network Reports are ranked according to the IAB Podcast Technical Measurement Guidelines v2.1, using average weekly downloads and users. Participating networks include content creators, sales representatives, and certified organizations. Triton's Podcast Metrics data is audited by the IAB Tech Lab, ensuring transparency and consistency in audience measurement.
