Amazon DSP enables advertisers to use different currencies
Amazon DSP last month introduced a new feature allowing advertisers to select their preferred transaction currency during the advertiser creation stage.
Amazon DSP last month introduced a new feature allowing advertisers to select their preferred transaction currency during the advertiser creation stage. This functionality streamlines campaign management for regional, cross-border, and global advertisers.
Previously, advertiser billing currency in Amazon DSP was tied to the advertiser's country, which could be inconvenient for advertisers operating in multiple regions or currencies. The new Advertiser Currency Selection feature allows users to choose their preferred currency for budgeting, bidding, campaign management, reporting, and billing. This simplifies campaign management by enabling advertisers to:
Plan and Budget in Preferred Currencies: Advertisers can now plan and budget for campaigns using the currency they're most familiar with. This eliminates the need for mental calculations or conversions when working with campaign finances.
Streamlined Reporting: All campaign reports, both within the Amazon DSP user interface (UI) and downloaded reports, will reflect the advertiser's chosen currency. This eliminates the need for manual currency conversions when analyzing campaign performance data.
Simplified Billing: Invoices and billing statements will be issued in the advertiser's chosen currency. This provides a clear picture of campaign costs without the need for additional currency conversions.
How does it work?
The Advertiser Currency Selection feature is implemented during the advertiser creation stage within the Amazon DSP platform. Here's a breakdown of the process:
- Advertiser Creation: When creating a new advertiser profile, users will now see a dropdown menu labeled "Currency."
- Currency Selection: From this dropdown menu, users can select their preferred currency from a list of available options provided by Amazon DSP.
- Impact on Campaigns: Once an advertiser profile is created with a chosen currency, all associated campaigns will inherit that currency for budgeting, bidding, reporting, and billing.
Who can use this feature?
The Advertiser Currency Selection feature is available to all Amazon DSP advertisers globally. This includes advertisers in the following regions:
- North America: United States, Canada, Mexico
- Europe: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden, Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, Ireland, Denmark, Luxembourg, Austria
- Middle East: Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Israel, Egypt, Morocco, Bahrain, Kuwait
- Asia Pacific: Australia, New Zealand, Japan, China, Singapore
The introduction of Advertiser Currency Selection in Amazon DSP addresses a pain point for advertisers operating across multiple regions and currencies. By allowing users to manage campaigns in their preferred currency, this feature can potentially simplify campaign budgeting, reporting, and billing processes for regional, cross-border, and global advertisers on the Amazon DSP platform.
