Criteo this week announced it has entered into exclusive negotiations to acquire IPONWEB, the company that owns the ad exchange BidSwitch.
Criteo’s offer for IPONWEB is $380 million, $305 million paid in cash and $75 million paid in CRTO treasury shares. Criteo expects to close the transaction in the first quarter of 2022.
Criteo says it will leverage IPONWEB’s established DSP and SSP solutions: the ad exchange BidSwitch. According to Criteo, BidSwitch is connected to 130 demand partners and close to 150 supply partners.
With the acquisition, Criteo says it will have access to more first-party data from media owners and be able to match their first-party data assets.
