According to data from Salesforce, Mobile is almost taking over the Computer on Order Share in 796 e-commerce sites. Users are already using more the mobile phone to browse the products (60% share), but still using more the computer to buy (51% share).
In the 4th quarter of 2018, globally, the order share per device was 51% on the computer, 39% on mobile, and 10% on Tablet.
3 years ago, in 2015, the order share on mobile was 26%, 2 years ago, in 2016, the order share on mobile was 32%, and last year, in 2017, the order share on mobile was 39%. Mobile had a growth of 20% year over year. If the growth continues, 2018 will be the year where mobile is the device most used for order.
On the traffic share, in the Q4 of 2017, mobile had 60% share, the computer had a 33% share, and tablet had a 7% share.
These numbers are from the Salesforce Shopping Index. The Shopping Index report analyzes the activity of more than 500 million shoppers worldwide to identify trends and changes in shopping activity. According to the report, there was a 5% growth in shopper spending, when we compare the Q4 2017 with Q4 2016.
