AMP is an open-source web component framework started by Google that simplifies how businesses can build user-first websites, ads, and now emails. Many advertisers do not use AMP, as it is a project where Google is shaping the web.
Google says that with AMP emails, users can schedule a 1:1 appointment, shop online without leaving the inbox, scheduling grocery delivery, or receive a website alert for a product and then completing the transaction from the back-in-stock notification email. The promise is that users do not need to leave the inbox.
According to Google, Ecwid tested AMP emails and saw their merchant’s sales going up 27% by using AMP components in their abandoned cart email.
