Google is shutting down Inbox by Gmail and Gmail Offline Chrome app

Google is sunsetting Inbox by Gmail at the end of March 2019 and Gmail Offline Chrome app later this year.

Inbox by Gmail has four years and was launched in 2014. Google says it will focus only on the Gmail app, which incorporates many of the same features in Inbox.

The Gmail Offline Chrome app is also being sunset this year after Google introduced a new offline feature making this possible on Gmail. Users can now search, write, delete, and archive up to 90 days of messages, even when without an internet connection.

Google says this native capability is easier to use and performs better than the Gmail Offline Chrome app, so Google will remove Gmail Offline Chrome app from the Chrome Web Store after December 3rd, 2018.
