Google will launch a new call-to-action extension for video ads on Google Ads, in January. The current YouTube call-to-action overlay will sunset by then. JR Futrell, Product Manager, Video Ads at Google, says this is an “effort to simplify the interactivity features across video ad formats.”
The new call-to-action extension can be applied to TrueView in-stream ads, and later, to Bumper ads and TrueView video discovery ads.
According to Google, making videos with interactive features like end screens and a call-to-action helps viewers learn about advertiser’s brands or services and take relevant actions.
