Google launches YouTube Shorts, first in India

YouTube Shorts are user-generated short videos with 15 or less seconds. TikTok was banned in India this year, in June.

Google today launched YouTube Shorts, short videos with 15 or less seconds. YouTube Shorts is available as an early beta in India.

According to Google, YouTube Shorts have the option to record with music from a library of songs, it has video speed controls, a multi-segment camera to string multiple video clips together, and a timer and countdown for hands-free recording.

Google says YouTube Shorts is being first rolled out on Android and then on iOS.
