Starting next month, advertisers will only be able to target teens, when age and locations are selected at the same time. Meta says gender to be removed from the targeting options when teens are targeted.

According to Meta, advertisers could not target teens based on their interest and activities. Starting in February, teens’ engagement on the apps — like following posts or Facebook pages — will not inform the ads they see.

Meta states age and location will be the only information about a teen that will show them ads.
