96,537 new podcasts were created last month, a montly record on podcast creation. Those are stats from My Podcast Reviews, first reported by Podnews.
My Podcast Reviews collects data from Apple Podcasts. As of today, there are 1,147,127 podcasts in Apple Podcasts, with 30,231,446 episodes available in the feeds.
50% of the podcasts are inactive (without an episode in the last 90 days), and more than half of the podcasts has less than 10 episodes.
Last month, Nielsen launched Gracenote Audio On Demand with a dataset of 37 million podcast episodes, Google created a Podcast Manager, for podcasters, Apple expanded podcasts into 20 new countries, and AdsWizz launched DCO on audio creatives hosted in AudioMatic and AudioServe.
