Retailers have a new ad format that is slowly becoming available on publishers and next year will roll out in Google Image Search. The ad format is called Shoppable Image ads and allows shoppers to see the prices and the items on sale in an image.
Google is working with influencers like This Time Tomorrow blog, where users can see a selection of visually similar offers after clicking the tag icon in the image. Shoppable Images enable advertisers to highlight the shopping ads on curated, published content from Google publisher partners.

According to Google, over the next year, shoppable image ads will continue to roll out to more publishers, as well as pilot new surfaces like Google Image Search.
