Today, University Beyond, a recruitment and management platform for on-campus brand ambassadors, announced they are hosting their second annual "National Student Discount Day" on August 24th, 2016.
Participating brands will be joining the conversation on social media using the hashtag #NSDD, and their discounts will be promoted to millions of college students on nsdd.universitybeyond.com.
Last year, University Beyond partnered with Commission Junction, the #1 rated affiliate marketing platform by the top 1,000 E-retailers, as well as eligibility verification leader SheerID, to make National Student Discount Day a reality.
"In collaboration with our partners and clients, we were able to partner with hundreds of influential brands to provide discounts to college students," said University Beyond co-founder, Doug Messer. "This year, we already have commitments from some of the most influential brands in the world to help students save on everything from software products to new clothes to college textbooks. Not only are we going to have more brands than last year, but we'll also be releasing multiple exclusive discounts that are only available on #NSDD."
National Student Discount Day is an opportunity for brands to showcase new or existing college student deals and discounts during back to school shopping season. In year one, over 100 major brands participated, helping students save on everything from mobile plans with Sprint to discounts on their favorite streaming services like Spotify.
In 2015, SheerID supported National Student Discount Day as a way to raise students' awareness about the exclusive offers that are available to them. This year, University Beyond has named SheerID as their preferred #NSDD student verification provider.
"We're excited to yet again support National Student Discount Day and partner with University Beyond," said Jake Weatherly, CEO of SheerID. "It is a great opportunity to bring our clients' exclusive discounts to students across the country and ensure that they are able to get what they need for a productive school year. We look forward to seeing this holiday continue to gain popularity."
University Beyond Co-founders Doug Messer, Michael Spitalieri, and Rich Anand, run University Beyond which provides Fortune 100 brands the opportunity to post on-campus brand ambassador jobs, as well as manage student tasks, payments, and communication, all through a unique on-site dashboard.
"Since University Beyond's inception, we've been brainstorming ways to integrate student deals. National Student Discount Day is an ideal opportunity for students to not only save a few bucks, but recognize the brands that are cutting profits to give them a break," said University Beyond Co-founder, Doug Messer.
