Telefónica Deutschland starts the 5G network in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt
Telefónica Deutschland, owner of the brand O2, this week announced that will start building a 5G network in 2020. Telefónica says the 5G expansion will start in the five largest German cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt and should be largely completed by the end of 2021.

Telefónica Deutschland, owner of the brand O2, this week announced that will start building a 5G network in 2020. Telefónica says the 5G expansion will start in the five largest German cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne and Frankfurt and should be largely completed by the end of 2021.
Telefónica Deutschland expects that by the end of 2022, 30 cities with a total population of 16 million persons in Germany will be served with Telefónica’s 5G.
Telefónica also announced that by the end of 2020, 99 percent of households throughout Germany will be able to surf at high LTE speeds, with the setup of more than 10,000 LTE elements during the year of 2020.
Telefónica Deutschland is using Huawei and Nokia to equip the mobile radio sites.
Know here the German roadmap for 5G. Telefónica’s main competitor, Deutsche Telekom, started this year the 5G rollout in Germany, with a monthly plan that costs €84.95. After this, Deutsche Telekom decided to include 5G in all existing plans.
Deutsche Telekom began the 5G rollout in Berlin, Bonn, Darmstadt, Hamburg, Leipzig, and Munich.
