In Australia, Facebook started to test autoplay of videos with sound, Mashable reported. Organic and ad videos are included on the experiment. This only happens if you have sound activated on your mobile device.
A Facebook spokesperson told that Facebook is “running a small test in News Feed where people can choose whether they want to watch videos with sound on from the start.”
The users can turn the sound off on their Facebook settings. “This is one of several tests we’re running as we work to improve the video experience for people on Facebook,” said the spokesperson.
According to a study from Facebook, 80% react negatively to a video that plays loudly when it is not expected.
