Users can now download the data and photos from Instagram

Due to GDPR, Facebook is launching an option to users download their data on all platforms. This tool already existed in Facebook, but now it comes to Instagram and WhatsApp. Instagram users can download their data here. Instagram will ask the email and “it can take up to 48 hours to collect this data” and send it to users. Users “can only request a file every four days.”

Users that want to delete Instagram or delete WhatsApp, can download their data previous of the Instagram/WhatsApp deletion.

On WhatsApp, in the coming weeks, users will be able to see and download their WhatsApp account information and settings. This feature, Request Account Info, will be rolling out to all users around the world on the newest version of the app. Please note that the report doesn’t include your messages, as they are stored on the phones.
