Google yesterday raised YouTube TV’s price to $49.99/month ($54.99/month through Apple). Until now, the YouTube TV cost was $40.
YouTube TV new price takes effect today, April 10, for new members. Existing subscribers will see these changes reflected in their subsequent billing cycle after May 13.
Christian Oestlien, Vice President of Product Management, YouTube TV, said that included in the base cost of YouTube TV there are more than 70 networks, 6 accounts per household (each with its own unique recommendations and cloud DVR with no storage space limits), and 3 concurrent streams.
Google yesterday also added more channels to YouTube TV that include Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, TLC, Investigation Discovery, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, and MotorTrend, and later this year OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network will also be available.
YouTube TV is available on any screen—mobile devices, tablets, computers, and TVs. YouTube TV is currently only available in the United States of America.
