Amazon tests autonomous delivery in Washington

Amazon Scout is an autonomous delivery device (in the picture), a delivery bot, and since yesterday a total of 6 Amazon Scouts are delivering packages in Snohomish County, Washington, United States.

Sean Scott, vice president of Amazon Scout, wrote that the Amazon Scouts were designed to safely get packages to customers. Amazon Scouts are the size of a small cooler, and they roll along sidewalks at a walking pace.

Amazon Scout devices are delivering packages Monday through Friday, during daylight hours. The devices will autonomously follow their delivery route but will initially be accompanied by an Amazon employee.
