TikTok Shop today published a guide for sellers in the United States titled "Getting BFCM-Ready with Seller AI," which groups the AI agents inside its Seller Center under a single name and sets out how they are meant to prepare shops for Black Friday and Cyber Monday across three areas: products, content and campaigns.
In Short
TikTok Shop wrote a guide for US sellers on using its built-in AI, which it now calls Seller AI, to get ready for Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The AI reads a shop's own data and suggests which products to fix, makes videos and photos on request, and lists the sales campaigns a shop is allowed to join. It could save sellers time, but the guide gives no dates, fees or results, and TikTok Shop says sellers are responsible for checking every suggestion before acting on it.
A guide, not a launch
The document sits in TikTok Shop Academy, the platform's seller education site, under the path US Academy, Feature Guide, Seller, AI Seller Center. It carries today's date, 11/04/2026, and the line "Applies to: United States." Five tags are attached to it: Manage Product, Promotion Tool, Platform Campaigns, Product and Livestream. No author is named and no publication or update label accompanies the date.
The guide does not present any of its tools as new. It says only that "this year" TikTok Shop has built AI directly into Seller Center, and it gives the combined offering a name. "We call it Seller AI," according to TikTok Shop. The company is explicit about what the product is not. "Seller AI is not a general-purpose chatbot. It is built around your business," the guide states, describing a system that reads a shop's own data, draws on TikTok Shop's selling playbooks and concentrates on product readiness, content production and campaign execution.
The stated aim is twofold, according to TikTok Shop: to reduce the operational effort of preparing for the year's largest selling period and to turn that preparation into stronger campaign performance. The sentence that follows sets the terms of the relationship. "Seller AI does the groundwork. You stay in control, and every decision remains yours."
The tools themselves are not new. When TikTok Shop began testing a five-agent AI dashboard with select US local-to-local sellers on April 9, 2026, the beta ran on the desktop version of Seller Center only, with no support in the mobile app. Today's guide does not say whether that restriction still applies, whether the tools have left beta, or which sellers can see them.
Two surfaces and an acronym
Everything in the guide runs through two places in Seller Center. The first is the AI Homepage, which, according to TikTok Shop, "reads your shop the moment you log in and surfaces the moves that matter most," including a ranked to-do list with the highest-priority task at the top. The second is the Seller Assistant, a question-and-answer panel next to the homepage that responds in plain language, at any hour, using the shop's data and TikTok Shop's own guidance.
Behind those two surfaces, the guide describes "a set of AI agents working across your business." These are organised into three areas that TikTok Shop calls ACE: Assortment, Content and Empowerment. The guide glosses the acronym as the right products, the right content and the right marketing, and structures itself as three "moves" in the order a seller would prepare them.
One caveat appears before any of the tools are described. The AI Homepage is personalised to each shop and shows the agents most relevant to its current performance, so the set a seller sees may differ from another seller's and from the list in the guide. "If an agent mentioned here does not appear on your homepage today, that is expected," according to TikTok Shop. The set changes as a shop's needs change. The guide does not explain what determines which agents appear.
The agent names have also shifted since June. PPC Land's June 29 report listed the beta's five agents as Shop Insight, To-Do List, New Seller Coach, Smart Product Analysis and Product Opportunity Radar, the last of which used seven days of real-time data to surface search keywords and trending products. Today's guide uses different names: Product Growth Opportunities, One-Click SEO, Content Opportunities, LIVE Recommendations, the Campaigns agent and Recommended promotion strategies. It does not say whether these replace, rename or sit alongside the earlier agents. The to-do list survives in both descriptions.
The Academy's sidebar shows how much documentation now surrounds the product. The AI Seller Center section lists 18 entries, including a series of practical handbooks that runs to a twelfth volume, a "1000 AI Prompts" query bank for the assistant, and a guide whose title charts the Seller Assistant's move from assistant to agentic AI, software that carries out multistep tasks rather than only answering questions. The entry immediately before today's guide covers an Affiliate Center Seller Agent.
Move 1: products
The first move concerns the catalogue. During Black Friday and Cyber Monday, according to TikTok Shop, shoppers arrive ready to buy and compare options quickly, and fixing weak listings before the surge is "far more effective than reacting during it."
Product Growth Opportunities
Product Growth Opportunities reviews every product in a shop and, according to the guide, "compares it against how similar products are performing." It then makes product-by-product recommendations on pricing, listing quality or conversion. The central claim is in the next sentence: "For each recommendation, it shows the expected payoff in additional orders, so you can prioritize the changes worth making first."
The tool also flags two groups of products. High-potential products are those the guide describes as worth putting more behind, and at-risk listings are those to address before the peak. A pro tip lists three reasons a product may surface: a new listing flagged as high-potential, an established bestseller losing momentum, or a product aligned with a rising category trend.
How the order estimate is produced is not described. The guide does not say which products count as "similar," over what period performance is compared, whether the estimate is a range or a single figure, or how accurate past estimates have been. Nor does it give an example of a recommendation with its projected payoff. For a seller deciding where to spend limited preparation time, the reliability of that number is the feature.
One-Click SEO
Among the recommendations is One-Click SEO. "One-Click SEO aligns your product names with the keywords shoppers are actively searching," according to TikTok Shop. The guide argues that search demand concentrates around specific terms during the shopping weekend, so aligning listings to those terms in one click helps products surface for the searches that matter most.
The guide does not say whether One-Click SEO rewrites product titles automatically or proposes a title for approval, how many keywords it adds, or whether TikTok Shop's title length and content rules constrain the output. It describes the feature only as "the quickest way" to align a listing with in-demand terms. Product titles on marketplaces are both a ranking input and the first line a shopper reads, and changes made shortly before peak traffic are hard to evaluate because demand itself is changing at the same time.
Move 2: content
The second move is about supply. According to TikTok Shop, content drives discovery and conversion throughout the campaign, and peak demand requires a steady flow of it along with a quick read on what is working.
Content Opportunities
Content Opportunities, on the AI Homepage, takes a plain-language description and, according to the guide, "produces sale-ready videos and photos in minutes, without a separate shoot or a long edit." The section is short. It names no underlying model, gives no maximum video length, and does not say whether the output carries any marker identifying it as AI-generated.
Those omissions matter on a platform with detailed content rules. TikTok Shop's quality requirements, updated in the US Academy on May 23, 2026, ban AI-generated voices in LIVE sessions and require at least three seconds of dynamic content in recorded shoppable videos. The Seller AI guide does not explain how AI-made photos and videos fit within those rules. On the advertising side, TikTok's Symphony creative suite doubled its maximum AI video length to 30 seconds in August and applies invisible watermarking and C2PA metadata to every asset it generates. Whether Content Opportunities shares that technology or that labelling is not stated.
LIVE Recommendations and the post-session review
Once content is running, the guide turns to measurement. LIVE Recommendations "analyzes your LIVE sessions across the key conversion steps, including exposure, retention, interaction, and conversion," according to TikTok Shop, and suggests what to improve next. Session recaps may appear on the AI Homepage under that heading.
Sellers can also ask the Seller Assistant for a review of a finished session. "It only needs your session ID," the guide states. TikTok Shop supplies three sample prompts, including a comparison of the last three LIVE sessions and a request to rank the likely reasons for a low conversion rate by importance. For any metric a seller wants defined, the guide points to the assistant.
This layer sits on top of analytics that TikTok Shop has been expanding for weeks. Its October Compass update, covered by PPC Land on November 2, added audience insights to LIVE Diagnosis among nine new analytics capabilities for US local sellers. The same day, TikTok Shop documented a Brand LIVE Impact module that credits a livestream with sales up to 14 days afterwards. Under that window, a stream on Black Friday, November 27, would not reach its mature figure until December 11, by PPC Land's calculation. A post-session review run on the night of a stream, by contrast, can draw only on the data available at that moment. The guide does not say which attribution window LIVE Recommendations uses.
Move 3: campaigns
The third move is where, in TikTok Shop's words, exposure and engagement "convert into orders." The guide puts the cost of getting this wrong plainly. "Missing a campaign you qualify for, or entering one without the right setup, can leave sales on the table during your highest-demand window."
The Campaigns agent
The Campaigns agent "brings together every campaign you qualify for and gives you the exact tasks to get sale-ready," according to TikTok Shop. Examples of those tasks include reviewing pricing, confirming eligible products and setting up promotions. The guide presents this as a replacement for tracking requirements across several pages of Seller Center. A companion feature, Recommended promotion strategies, helps a seller choose and configure the promotion that fits a stated goal.
The single pro tip in this section is about timing. "Some campaigns have preparation steps and deadlines ahead of the weekend," according to the guide, which adds that the agent flags what still needs attention. No deadline is given, no campaign is named and no registration window is published in the document.
What qualifying involves
Eligibility for TikTok Shop's campaigns is not a neutral list. From April 2026, enrolment in Smart Promotion became mandatory for platform major campaigns, Flash Sales, Premium Offers and Weekly Promos, PPC Land reported in June. Smart Promotion charges 3.5% of a store's GMV outside campaign periods and 4.5% during major campaigns, a category in which TikTok Shop's own documentation listed Black Friday in November.
Account standing is the other gate. Under TikTok Shop's Account Health Rating, a seller whose score falls to 150 cannot enrol in new mega-campaigns or create new listings for seven days, with longer restrictions at 100 and 50. Earlier this year, the platform's Deals For You Days event used daily creator scores to remove creators from the campaign while it was running.
None of this appears in the Seller AI guide. It does not mention Smart Promotion, its fee, or any score threshold. A seller reading only the guide would see the Campaigns agent as a list of open doors; the conditions attached to walking through them are documented elsewhere.
What the guide leaves open
The document closes with a checklist of six tasks, from reviewing Product Growth Opportunities to setting up promotions through Recommended promotion strategies, and a one-line disclaimer in italics. "Seller AI provides suggestions to assist you. You are responsible for reviewing them before you act."
That sentence shapes how the rest should be read. The guide contains no figures of its own: no adoption numbers, no measured uplift from any agent, no accuracy rate for the order estimates and no results from the beta. It does not say which sellers have access, whether access depends on account size, category or performance, or whether any feature costs money. It gives no campaign dates. It does not describe what data the agents read beyond "your shop's own data" and TikTok Shop's playbooks, although the comparison with "similar products" implies that the performance of other listings feeds the recommendations.
Two passages make claims the document does not support. The guide promises that sellers can "produce the content your campaign needs in minutes rather than days" and suggests that "a few minutes now" will put a shop in a stronger position. Neither is accompanied by data.
The calendar
Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026 and Cyber Monday on November 30. That leaves 23 days between today's guide and Black Friday, by PPC Land's count, and 26 to Cyber Monday. The guide refers only to "the weekend" and "the peak."
Other marketplaces published their schedules months ago. Amazon, which calls such peaks high velocity events, set its 2026 holiday deal fees and deadlines in July, and its submission window for Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals closed on October 20. Pinterest's UK business blog ran a BFCM planning post and a 25-step small business checklist on October 19, alongside a Pinterest-commissioned study saying 36% of ad impact arrives after a campaign's eighth week.
The money at stake is large. Adobe forecast US online spending of $275.1 billion between November 1 and December 31, including $12.9 billion on Black Friday and $15.1 billion on Cyber Monday, and expected social media's share of revenue to grow 17% year over year.
Why this matters for marketers
The guide sets out how TikTok Shop wants sellers to work during peak season: through a homepage that decides what to show, an assistant that answers from the platform's own playbooks, and agents that rank products, write titles, make content and assemble campaign entries. For brands that treat TikTok Shop as one channel among several, that changes where decisions are made. The recommendations come from the same company that sets campaign rules, collects promotion fees and runs the advertising auction.
The approach mirrors Amazon's. Amazon turned Seller Assistant into an agent that monitors accounts, manages inventory and runs advertising campaigns in September 2025, and a year later gave it persistent memory and automations that keep running while sellers are logged out. Amazon claimed rollout to more than 90% of selling partners and recommendation acceptance above 90%, without describing a method. TikTok Shop's guide makes no comparable claims and describes a narrower arrangement: Seller AI suggests and the seller acts.
Scale explains the attention. EMARKETER put TikTok Shop's US e-commerce sales at $15.82 billion in 2025, up 108%. It is a social commerce venue, where discovery, content and checkout happen inside one app, and as more of the preparation for that venue runs through tools the platform controls, the questions for advertisers and agencies are practical ones. How are the order estimates calculated? Which campaigns are left off the list a seller sees? And when a recommendation does not pay off, whose responsibility is it? On the last point, at least, the guide is unambiguous.
