Instagram last week expanded Gifts to more creators in the US. Instagram Gifts enable followers to purchase stars and give them to creators on Instagram.
Instagram content creators can see if they are eligible for gifts (stars) in the Professional Dashboard on Instagram.
Instagram provides creators a revenue share from the reels that received gifts (stars) on a monthly basis equal to $.01 USD for every star received from fans.
Instagram only pays creators when they reach a overall balance of USD 100, including earnings from other monetisation programmes.
Instagram is not taking a share of the stars, but the mobile platforms (Apple for iOS and Google for Android) are when the stars are purchased in-app via Instagram’s mobile app. Instagram says the in-app purchase fees are determined by the mobile platform and are typically 30%.
