Adswerve, the Denver consultancy best known for its Google Marketing Platform work, said on September 29, 2026 that Adobe had granted it the Real-Time Customer Data Platform specialization, a partner credential that Adobe awards, according to Adswerve, only after verifying successful client implementations and certified staff. The company tied the badge to more than three years of work on Adobe Customer Journey Analytics and to early use of Adobe CX Enterprise Coworker, an agent product that assembles audiences and journey plans for a human to approve.

In Short

Adobe has given Adswerve, a marketing consultancy, an official badge saying its people know how to install and run Adobe's customer data software, which pulls a company's website, app, sales and offline records into one profile per customer. If you are a large brand looking for outside help with that software, the badge matters because Adobe hands it out only after checking real client projects and staff qualifications. Little changes in the work itself - Adswerve says it was already doing it - but the firm can now show Adobe's stamp next to its long-standing Google credentials.

What Adobe's badge requires

The specialization covers Adobe Real-Time CDP, the customer data platform Adobe sells as part of Experience Cloud and runs on Adobe Experience Platform. According to Adswerve, the credential marks the next step in its evolution as an Adobe partner and formalises work its team was already doing for clients: building unified, real-time customer profiles. The release carries a Denver, Colorado dateline, where the firm has its headquarters.

What it does not supply is the threshold. Adobe requires "a verified number of successful client implementations and certified team members" before granting the badge, according to Adswerve, which states neither number. Adobe's own partner materials are more specific, if not necessarily current. When Adobe opened the Real-Time CDP specialization on May 19, 2023, its partner notice said applicants had to provide contact details for three successful Real-Time CDP customer references. Adobe's general specialization guidelines add further conditions. The applicant must be an active member of the partner program at Silver, Gold or Platinum level, and any certification counted towards the requirement must be active and valid for at least 90 days from the date of the request. A partner that earns the same specialization in at least three of Adobe's four regions - the Americas, EMEA, Asia Pacific and Japan - is classed as globally specialized. The Adswerve release names no region, and nothing in it suggests global status.

The image published with the release carries an "Adobe Gold Solution Partner" mark, which places Adswerve one tier below Adobe's Platinum level.

On people, Adswerve points to two current Adobe Champions, Sara Hanrahan and Josh Stephens, plus former Champions on its staff. Hanrahan is a principal lead for martech based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, according to her LinkedIn profile, which describes her as a customer data platform strategist and AEP expert. "I help organizations turn fragmented customer data into unified, activation-ready platforms," the profile reads. Beyond his name and title, the release says nothing about Stephens.

A listing that came first

The timing raises a question the release leaves open. Adswerve presents the credential as newly secured, and Hanrahan's LinkedIn post opens with the line "Adswerve is now an Adobe Real-Time CDP specialized partner." Yet a third-party summary of Adobe's partner directory showed it weeks earlier.

WISLR, a search and AI-visibility consultancy that republishes summaries of software partner directories, lists 21 Adobe Platinum and Gold partners holding the Real-Time CDP specialization in a snapshot it dates to August 9, 2026. Fifteen are Platinum and six are Gold. Adswerve is among the six, shown with three Adobe specializations - Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics and Real-Time CDP - alongside 71 certifications and 21 entries in a field WISLR labels deployments without defining it. If the snapshot is accurate, Adobe had recorded the specialization at least seven weeks before September 29.

So what changed on September 29? Neither the release nor Hanrahan's post says when Adobe granted the badge, and the snapshot could not be checked against Adobe's live directory. A gap between a credential being recorded and a firm publicising it is common enough. Still, the release language implies a fresh award, and the August data suggests otherwise.

The same summary puts the badge in proportion. Only 21 of the 171 Platinum and Gold partners WISLR tracks hold it. The large systems integrators on that list operate at a different scale: Accenture is credited with 2,602 Adobe certifications, IBM with 1,266 and Tata Consultancy Services with 1,224. Adswerve's 71 make it one of the smaller Adobe practices with the specialization. The listing also records something the release headline, which frames the move as a progression from Customer Journey Analytics to Real-Time CDP, leaves out: an existing specialization in Adobe Analytics.

How the platform is meant to work

Real-Time CDP sits on Adobe Experience Platform, which Adobe brought out in 2019 as the data foundation for its marketing applications. According to Adswerve, the product lets organisations combine data from web, app, CRM and offline sources into unified profiles that can be activated in real time. The step that makes this possible is identity resolution: deciding that a hashed email address, an app device identifier, a loyalty number and a browser cookie belong to one person, then attaching them to a single profile. Audiences built from those profiles can be sent onward to email, website personalisation and advertising destinations as the underlying records change.

For Adswerve's clients, the company says, the result is a move from fragmented, channel-by-channel marketing to one coherent view of each customer's journey. Hanrahan's post breaks the offer into four parts - unified profiles, activation, connected insight and a fourth built on Adobe's agent tools - and ties the third to the firm's analytics history, saying it lets Adswerve "close the loop between activation and measurement."

That pairing has a technical logic. Customer Journey Analytics is Adobe's cross-channel analysis product, which the company describes as stitching behavioural data across channels and applying report-time processing, so that new information is reflected in existing analyses without the data being ingested again. Profiles are built in one system and outcomes are read in another. A consultancy fluent in both can, in principle, test whether an audience activated through the CDP changed customer behaviour. The release offers no client example showing that it has.

Adobe has been extending the platform beyond its own walls since early 2025. On February 20, 2025, it released Real-Time CDP Collaboration, a tool for advertisers and publishers to work together on first-party data, with connections to Snowflake and Amazon Web Services. On March 26, 2025, the telecom-backed identity company Utiq said it had integrated with Real-Time CDP, and it later cited a 290 percent uplift in deterministic reach over cookie-based targetingfrom a campaign with iq digital and GroupM - a vendor figure from a single test. On April 21, 2026, HUMAN Security began delivering its classification of AI agent traffic inside Adobe Experience Platform as an official Adobe technology partner.

Coworker and the human sign-off

The more forward-looking part of the release concerns Adobe CX Enterprise Coworker, which Adswerve calls Adobe's newest product in this area and says it already uses. According to Adswerve, Coworker orchestrates and automates workflows built on agentic AI across Real-Time CDP, Customer Journey Analytics, Adobe Journey Optimizer and other compatible CX Enterprise applications. Its listed tasks are assembling audiences, pulling creative assets and building out journey plans. In practice it is pitched as an orchestration layer over Adobe's applications: one interface that breaks a marketing goal into tasks and routes each to the relevant product.

Coworker has a lineage. Adobe made six agents generally available on September 10, 2025 through its Experience Platform Agent Orchestrator - the Audience, Journey, Experimentation, Data Insights, Site Optimization and Product Support agents - and extended the approach to B2B sales and marketing in October 2025. At Cannes Lions on June 22, 2026, it presented deployments of CX Enterprise and CX Enterprise Coworker with Accenture Song, Omnicom, Stagwell's Code and Theory and WPP, and said its CX skills and Model Context Protocol servers were generally available inside Anthropic's Claude Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Copilot. Adswerve now places itself among the services firms building on that layer, at a fraction of the holding companies' scale.

The control model is where the two Adswerve documents part ways. The release says a human marketer still signs off "before anything goes live." Hanrahan's post describes the same product as working "with your marketers approving every step." Those are different designs. A single gate before go-live leaves the intermediate choices - which audience definition, which assets, which journey branches - to the agents, with a person reviewing the finished plan. Approval at every step keeps a person inside each decision but slows the process the product exists to speed up. Neither document says which configuration Adswerve's clients run, what is logged when an agent assembles an audience, or who answers for an approved plan that misfires.

A sequencing question follows. The release says the badge gives clients a single team across analytics, activation "and soon orchestration" - the territory of Journey Optimizer, which runs cross-channel journeys. Yet the firm says it already uses Coworker to build journey plans. The August snapshot shows no Journey Optimizer specialization for Adswerve, and the release gives no date for one.

What the chief executive claimed

Tom Zawacki, Adswerve's chief executive, framed the product as infrastructure rather than a feature. "Adobe Real-Time CDP is one of the best platforms in our data solutions toolkit. It helps us create a unified and accurate data foundation for our clients, a critical element of a successful predictive marketing strategy," he said in the release. "When we combine Adobe Real-Time CDP with Adobe Customer Journey Analytics for campaign analytics and customer insights, Adobe Journey Optimizer for CX optimization, and interoperability with other key ecosystem partners, we deliver significant ROI for our clients."

No figure is attached to that return. The release names no client and describes the installed base only as several enterprise deployments. Which "ecosystem partners" Zawacki means is not explained - a notable gap for a firm whose largest business runs through Google.

Zawacki took the job in February 2026, having served as chief growth officer at Acxiom and, before that, as president of enterprise solutions at Data Axle. The company's self-description has moved since. When Google named it to a new partner category in June, Adswerve was a Denver-based data, analytics, media and technology consultancy. The September release calls it an award-winning predictive marketing consulting firm, one that combines human expertise, AI, proprietary intelligence and platform mastery.

A Google shop with an Adobe practice

The Adobe badge sits on a business built around Google. In 2018, AdSwerve acquired Seattle-based Analytics Pros, a Google Analytics 360 and Google Cloud partner and reseller, and folded that brand into its own from January 1, 2019, taking combined headcount past 120. The firm was listed among Americas partners when Google opened Meridian, its marketing mix model, to marketers worldwide in January 2025, and among the 30 certified partners named in a September 2025 update. In December 2025 it was one of the initial integration partners for Google's Data Manager API, which carries audience and conversion data into Google Ads, Google Analytics and Display & Video 360.

The latest step came on June 2, 2026, when Google selected Adswerve as a North American partner in its new GCS Implementation Partner category, part of the Data Strength Partner Program, to deploy Google tag gateway on Google Cloud for clients. Adswerve has reported a 9 to 18 percent uplift in measured conversions across its client base from tag gateway work, again its own figure. At the time the firm described itself as the largest US Google Marketing Platform provider, with more than 250 people serving over 800 brands and agencies, and as a two-time Adobe Partner of the Year. The September release lists Google, Adobe and Amplitude as its technology partners.

That dual position is the commercial point. Many large advertisers keep customer records in one vendor's software and buy media through another's. A consultancy able to configure Real-Time CDP profiles while also operating the pipes through which first-party data enters Google's ad systems sits at the junction. Whether Adswerve routes Adobe audiences into Google products through Data Manager or through other connectors is not covered in either document.

A crowded market for customer profiles

Adswerve is formalising its Adobe practice as the category fragments. Suite vendors sell the profile store inside a wider stack; composable vendors keep profiles in the customer's own data warehouse. Hightouch, a composable provider, was named a Leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Customer Data Platforms in January 2026, its first appearance in the ranking. On June 16, 2026, Databricks released CustomerLake, which it calls an Agentic CDP, putting identity resolution, segmentation and activation inside its data platform instead of copying records into a separate system. Salesforce took another route on April 15, 2026, exposing its platform, Data 360 included, through APIs and MCP tools under the Headless 360 name.

Adobe has widened its own suite in the same period. It agreed to buy Semrush for $1.9 billion on November 19, 2025 and completed the deal on April 28, 2026, adding search and AI visibility data to the products that share a profile layer.

Data collection is under pressure as well. A WebKit source-code review published on July 6, 2026 found that Safari 27 adds customer data platforms to its fingerprinting classification, naming Tealium and Segment, so that tags routed through a CDP container inherit the restrictions placed on it. Adobe was not named. Every CDP, however, depends on the events collected upstream, and the more browsers restrict that collection, the more weight falls on authenticated and server-side sources such as CRM and offline records - precisely the inputs Adswerve's release puts first.

Why this matters for marketers

Partner specializations rarely make news, but they shape procurement. Enterprise buyers use them to shortlist implementers, and in a field of 21 holders at the Platinum and Gold tiers, according to the August snapshot, an additional name is a material change to the pool - all the more so when the firm also holds Google's newest data credentials. Advertisers running Adobe for customer data and Google for media now have one more consultancy credentialed on both sides.

The badge, though, says less than it seems to. It records that Adobe checked a set of references and certifications at some point; nothing published describes the size of those projects, their outcomes or the region they cover. Adswerve's release adds no figures of its own beyond two named Champions and "several" deployments.

The more consequential shift lies in what implementers sell. If Coworker assembles audiences, pulls assets and drafts journeys, the consultancy's job moves from configuring software to supervising agents: setting the rules, reviewing the outputs and owning the approval step. How that approval is designed and documented is exactly where the release and Hanrahan's post disagree. For brands that will be asked to sign off on agent-built journeys, the difference between one gate and many is not a detail.

Timeline

Summary

Who: Adswerve, a Denver-based consultancy led by chief executive Tom Zawacki, with Adobe as the issuer of the credential. Adswerve's two current Adobe Champions, Sara Hanrahan and Josh Stephens, are named as part of the expertise behind it. The intended audience is enterprise brands using or evaluating Adobe Real-Time CDP.

What: Adobe granted Adswerve its Real-Time CDP partner specialization, which according to Adswerve requires verified client implementations and certified staff. Adswerve also says it already uses Adobe CX Enterprise Coworker to assemble audiences, pull creative and build journey plans under human sign-off. A third-party snapshot of Adobe's partner directory dated August 9, 2026 already listed the specialization, and the release and Hanrahan's LinkedIn post describe the human approval step differently.

When: Adswerve made the credential public on September 29, 2026. Adobe has offered the specialization since May 19, 2023, and the directory snapshot showing Adswerve as a holder dates to August 9, 2026.

Where: The release is datelined Denver, Colorado. The specialization sits within Adobe's partner program, where Adswerve is a Gold partner; the release does not say which of Adobe's four regions the credential covers.

Why: Adswerve presents the badge as formal recognition of work it was already doing and as an extension of more than three years on Customer Journey Analytics. For the market, it adds a consultancy credentialed on both Adobe's customer data layer and Google's first-party data infrastructure, at a moment when agent tools are shifting implementers' work from configuration to supervision.
