The wearables operating system (OS) of Google changed the name this week. Before called Android Wear is now Wear OS by Google.
According to Dennis Troper, Director of Product Management at Wear OS by Google, Wear OS is present in more than 50 watches, helping users to manage fitness, connect with the people who matter most and show the information persons care about.
Curious data: In 2017, one-third of the new Android Wear watch owners also used an iPhone.
Android Wear, now Wear OS by Google, had the initial release on March 18, 2014. Brands like Asus, Broadcom, Fossil, HTC, Intel, LG, MediaTek, Imagination Technologies, Motorola, New Balance, Qualcomm, Samsung, Huawei, and Polar, partner with Google in the past to produced watches based on Wear OS. Wear OS has the ability to download applications from the Google Play Store and integrates Google Assistant.
