Smartclip is being merged with SpotX during the course of 2018

SpotX and Smartclip are merging operations to create one offer for video ad serving and monetization during the course of 2018. According to the CEO of SpotX, “the new video ad serving and monetization company will operate under the SpotX brand around the globe. The Smartclip brand will continue to be used in certain local markets.”

“One Team, One Platform,” was first announced by their joint parent company, RTL Group, in November 2017. SpotX and Smartclip have around 550 employees, and 1000 broadcasters, and digital publishers, worldwide.

The co-founders of Smartclip, Jean-Pierre Fumagalli, and Roland Schaber, will join our management team as General Managers for Europe, reporting into co-founder Steve Swoboda and Mike Shehan, CEO at SpotX. J. Allen Dove will continue as CTO of the combined company, and Smartclip’s Thomas Servatius will serve as CTO, European Broadcaster Solutions, reporting directly to the CEO at SpotX.
