Apple Music has surpassed Spotify in the US when it comes to paid subscriptions. According to The Wall Street Journal, citing sources familiar with the matter, Apple Music has a monthly growth rate of about 2.6% to 3%, compared with 1.5% to 2% from Spotify.

The same sources said to The Wall Street Journal that Apple has now 28 million paid subscribers in the US, while Spotify has 26 million paid subscribers.
Spotify has recently filed a complaint against Apple with the European Commission. Spotify says Apple is "acting as both a player and referee to deliberately disadvantage other app developers."
Spotify is investing in audio and recently gained the leadership on podcast listening in India and Spain.
