Audiohook, a demand-side platform (DSP) for audio advertising, and Sounder, an AI-powered audio intelligence platform, have partnered to launch episode-level contextual targeting capabilities.
This new offering enables advertisers to target specific topics discussed within individual podcast episodes, exceeding traditional show-level targeting limitations.
Prior to this innovation, podcast advertising largely relied on genre classifications, often resulting in irrelevant ad placements and suboptimal campaign performance. Audiohook and Sounder's solution addresses this issue by leveraging Sounder's AI/ML technology to identify relevant topics within individual episodes, regardless of the show's declared genre. This allows advertisers to:
- Target specific content: Imagine targeting "American football" discussions, not just podcasts classified as "Sports."
- Reach relevant listeners: Ensure messages reach the right ears at the right time, boosting campaign effectiveness.
- Optimize ad spend: Eliminate wasted impressions for irrelevant placements.
“Until now, advertisers were limited by show-level targeting, often missing relevant episodes buried within broader categories,” explains Jordan Bentley, Founder and CEO of Audiohook. “By integrating Sounder’s sophisticated episode-level insights, we’re unlocking a new era of precision targeting, allowing advertisers to hyper-focus their campaigns on the most contextually aligned content, driving brand relevance and campaign effectiveness.”
