Google depreciates User List dimensions and renames social metrics in Campaign Manager

Google this week announced that is introducing changes in Campaign Manager – Google Marketing Platform. Google is depreciating audience performance report dimensions. The reporting updates will happen in August and September.

User List, User List ID, User List Description, User List Current Size, and User List Membership Life Span will disappear from CM audience reports.

Google is also renaming the social metrics renaming Twitter from the naming. Email Shares will be renamed as Shares (External), Other Twitter Engagement will be renamed as Other Social Interactions, and Retweets will be renamed as Shares (Internal).

On reporting and trafficking API, dfa:socialEmailShares will be renamed as dfa:socialSharesExternal, dfa:twitterOtherEngagements renamed as dfa:socialOtherEngagements, and dfa:twitterRetweets renamed as dfa:socialSharesInternal.

According to Google, scheduled reports will automatically remove the deprecated dimensions or reflect the new metric names. API reports created with the deprecated dimensions or old metric names will return errors.
