Google this month rolled out new asset reporting updates for App campaigns in Google Ads. Belinda Langner, Senior Product Manager at Google, wrote the new reporting updates to provide detailed and actionable insights.

Google is adding two new columns in asset reporting at the ad group level: one for asset source, and a second for orientation. Advertisers are now able to determine which assets are those they uploaded during the App campaign setup, and next to the images and videos, advertisers can see their orientations (landscape, portrait, square).

Next month, Google will introduce performance charts showing performance changes for the assets over time.

Finally, Google says advertisers are now able to preview how creatives may show up to users who see the ads. Starting in April, the ad previews tool will show sample ads assembled from the assets as they might appear in all eligible App campaign placements.
