Microsoft launches Filter Link Extensions

Microsoft yesterday launched Filter Link Extensions, a new search ad extension enabling advertisers to present headers so that users can navigate to their key products and offerings.

According to Microsoft, Filter Link Extensions resembles another extension, Structured Snippets, and the setup for Filter Link Extensions is like Structured Snippets, with the addition of the enhancement to add URLs.

Filter Link Extensions are available in all Microsoft Advertising markets, on both PC and mobile devices. Advertisers can leverage up to 36 pre-defined headers. Microsoft explains that Filter Link Extensions can be shown with other ad extensions, including sitelinks, and clicks on Filter Link Extensions will be charged the same cost-per-click (CPC) as clicks on the ad headline.

Microsoft says Filter Link Extensions can be created via Microsoft Advertising online-only, and are reported at the header level, not at an individual value level.
