Podtrac this week released a study covering the top 250 measured podcasts. The study found that 22% (54 podcasts) posted full video episodes on YouTube, and 11% (29 podcasts) posted audio only episodes on YouTube.
63% of top audio weekly podcasts post inconsistently or not at all to YouTube, even when YouTube is the platform that is bringing a sizable audience to podcasts. YouTube contributed to an average of 41% of the views and downloads per podcast, Apple 36%, and Spotify 14%.
For podcasts with full video episodes, YouTube share of views per podcast range from 2% to 83%, with a median of 42%.
