Amazon DSP this week announced the expansion of its line item moderation feature to include four new countries: India (IN), Sweden (SE), United Arab Emirates (AE), and Netherlands (NL).

Amazon DSP this week announced the expansion of its line item moderation feature to include four new countries: India (IN), Sweden (SE), United Arab Emirates (AE), and Netherlands (NL).

This feature streamlines the process of identifying and resolving policy issues within advertising campaigns.

Line item moderation is a feature within Amazon DSP that checks individual line item settings associated with a creative asset (ad). Previously, policy violations within a creative could lead to the entire creative being flagged as disapproved, even if the issue only applied to specific line items.

How does Line Item Moderation work?

Line item moderation provides a more granular approach to managing policy compliance. It examines various aspects of line item settings, including:

  • Audience Segments: Targeting limitations based on demographics or interests.
  • Day Parting: Restrictions on when the ad can be displayed.
  • Country Targeting: Limitations on where the ad can be shown geographically.
  • Onsite Placements: Specific placements within websites or apps where the ad can appear (applicable when available).

Line item moderation offers several advantages for advertisers:

  • Improved Efficiency: By identifying policy issues at the line item level, advertisers can pinpoint the specific setting needing adjustment. This reduces wasted time and effort troubleshooting issues that might only affect a single line item.
  • Faster Campaign Resolution: By isolating the problematic line item, advertisers can address the violation and get their creatives running again more quickly.
  • Reduced Confusion: Line item moderation eliminates the ambiguity of entire creatives being disapproved for issues related to specific line items.

As of May 22, 2024, line item moderation is available in the following regions and countries:

  • North America: United States, Canada, Mexico
  • South America: Brazil
  • Europe: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden
  • Middle East: United Arab Emirates
  • Asia Pacific: Australia, India

This feature is available to all Amazon DSP self-service advertisers in the regions and countries mentioned above.

Line item moderation functionality is integrated within the Amazon DSP advertising platform.

The advertiser or entity-level "Creatives" tab continues to display creative statuses. However, a new status, "Approved with exceptions," will now appear when a creative has a mix of approved and not approved line item associations.

The "Line items" tab within a creative now displays the association status (approved or not approved) for each line item it is attached to. Hovering over a yellow triangle icon reveals the reason for any disapproval.

The expansion of line item moderation to additional countries demonstrates Amazon DSP's commitment to providing advertisers with efficient tools for managing their advertising campaigns.
