With an average of 11.2 million weekly downloads, Canadians consumed podcasts at a healthy rate in January. Familiar names dominated the top spots, with both English and French language podcasts seeing strong performance.

Dominant Forces in Canadian Podcasts:

  • CBC/Radio-Canada maintained its dominance in the English-language sector, holding the top three spots with Front BurnerThe World This Hour, and World Report.
  • Dateline NBC remained the overall most-listened-to podcast, while SiriusXM Podcast Network and CBC/Radio-Canada took the top two spots for Sales Networks.

French-Language Podcasts Hold Steady:

  • Le RadiojournalLes chroniques de Pierre-Yves McSween, and Richard Martineau retained their positions as the top three Canada-originated French-language podcasts.
  • Mathieu Bock-Côté and Dérives made their debuts on the French-language list, showcasing emerging voices in the space.
