Google last days added a preview box on image search results. When a user searches for a picture, after clicking on the result, a side panel opens with the preview of the picture. The preview box includes the picture, the website source, and the title of the page, the copyright notice, and below, 12 similar images are recommended.

The old design appeared below the image with only 8 related images. The new design, the preview appears on the right side of the screen, but now with 12 related images.

Last year, in February, Google removed the button “View Image” from Google Images. The removal of this button was part of an agreement with Getty Images. Since then, Google included a copyright disclaimer more prominent and removed the view image button. Getty Images said at the time that expected more traffic from Google with this change.
