Google today announced the upcoming deprecation of the legacy Search Ads 360 connector used in conjunction with Looker Studio.
Effective April 30, 2024, users will no longer be able to create new reports using the connector. The change stems from modifications to the SA360 Reporting API which will culminate in the complete shutdown of the API on June 30, 2024.
Important Dates:
- April 30, 2024: Users will no longer be able to create new Looker Studio data sources using the original Search Ads 360 connector.
- June 30, 2024: Existing reports relying on the Search Ads 360 data source will cease to function as the SA360 Reporting API will be retired.
What Users Need to Do
To ensure continued access to their Search Ads 360 data within Looker Studio, users must take the following actions:
- Upgrade to the new version of SA360: Ensure you've transitioned to the updated Search Ads 360 platform.
- Establish a new Looker Studio data source: Create a new data source specifically using the "New Search Ads 360 connector."
- Update existing reports: Modify existing reports within Looker Studio by adding the new SA360 data source. Update chart configurations to use fields from this new data.
Google urges users to prioritize this transition to guarantee uninterrupted access to their valuable search analytics within Looker Studio.
