Google announced yesterday that achieved the 400 million devices with Google Assistant installed in 2017. The devices include smart “speakers like Google Home, Android phones and tablets, iPhones, headphones, TVs, watches and more.”
Google Assistant is available in english, french, german, italian, japanese, korean, portuguese and spanish.
Google does not reveal how many Google Homes sold until now, however it says that “sold more than one Google Home device every second since Google Home Mini started shipping,” in October 19.
Techcrunch did the calculation, and we are talking close to 7.5 million Google Homes. But as Seach Engine Land says, “If Google were really psyched about the Home figures it would have called them out specifically.”
Last holliday season, the competition between Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant was on price, and the sell was done with discount prices (probably at a loss). Everythig for the best market share. In the meantime, Apple said that HomePod needs “a little more time before it’s ready for customers.”
