Google yesterday included shopping campaigns in Google Ads’ Optimization Score. Optimization Score is now including search campaigns and shopping campaigns. Google says that advertisers who increased their account-level optimization score by 10 points saw a 10% increase in conversions. However, these numbers from Google data are only validated for search campaigns.

According to Google, optimization score for shopping campaigns ranges from 0% to 100%, with 100% meaning that the campaigns are set up to perform at their full potential.

Advertisers can see separate scores for Search and Shopping at the campaign level, and one combined score at the account level.

Google says that also added recommendations only for shopping campaigns, like switching to Smart shopping campaigns and adding seller ratings.

Optimization score in Google Ads is an estimate of how well the account is set to perform, according to Google’s recommendations.
