Prescription drug terms, gambling, elections and political content, and alcohol are now forbidden content categories in YouTube masthead ads.

Google this month update its ad requirements for YouTube with YouTube masthead content requirements that prohibit assets related to prescription drug terms, gambling, elections and political content, and alcohol.
YouTube masthead ads are the ads that YouTube users see at the top of the YouTube homepage.
Google says is forbiding prescription drug terms, gambling, elections and political content, and alcohol in order to provide a high-quality consumer ad experience
Prohibited categories in YouTube masthead
- Gambling: Assets that depict or reference gambling-related content, including offline gambling, online gambling, online non-casino games, and social casino games;
- Elections and political content: Assets related to elections or politics;
- Alcohol: Assets that depict or reference alcohol-related content, including ads promoting the sale of alcohol as well as branding or informational ads focusing on alcoholic beverages
- Prescription drug terms: Assets that depict or reference prescription drug terms.
