Google releases auto-tagging in Merchant Center free listings

Google this week released auto-tagging for free listings in Merchant Center.  Auto-tagging enables advertisers to see the free listings in Google Analytics dashboards.

Google says that auto-tagging adds a bit of additional information — a parameter called “result id” — to the URLs people click through.

Then on Google Analytics, advertisers can see how effectively the free listings and free local listings lead to customer activity, such as purchases.

Auto-tagging is available in Merchant Center accounts, under “Conversion settings”.
