Google this week announced that is working to support app-ads.txt, the ads.txt version for app, released by IAB Tech Lab in March, this year. The new app-ads.txt standard supports apps running on mobile, connected TVs and other devices.
Google says for now is working to encourage app developers to publish app-ads.txt files, and in the next few months, DV360 will stop buy unauthorized app inventory as identified by app-ads.txt files.
Google also says that when the adoption of app-ads.txt reaches sufficient levels, Google will allow marketers and agencies to choose to buy only app inventory that is authorized.
The Weather Channel app already implemented the app-ads.txt. See here how it looks like.
