IAB Europe this week appealed Belgian Data Protection Authority ruling. IAB Europe disputes that it acts as a controller for the recording of TC Strings.

According to IAB Europe, the appeal was filed before the Market Court in Belgium (part of the Brussels Court of Appeal), and includes a request for suspension of the execution of the decision.

Last month, The Belgian Data Protection Authority (DPA) ruled that Transparency and Consent Framework (TCF) was not compliant with Article 6 of the GDPR. The regulator fined IAB Europe in €250.000.
