IndexNow protocol begins working with Yandex and Bing search engines
IndexNow is a protocol that submits URLs to search engines, when URLs are added, updated, or deleted.
Microsoft this month announced that the IndexNow protocol is now working with Yandex and Bing. The IndexNow protocol helps search engines to index the web.
IndexNow is a protocol that submits URLs to search engines, when URLs are added, updated, or deleted.
According to Microsoft, more than 80,000 websites have already started publishing using the IndexNow protocol.
All Search Engines adopting the IndexNow protocol agree that submitted URLs will be automatically shared with all other participating Search Engines. Microsoft says the IndexNow protocol can help the entire search industry get their content indexed faster, while using less resources.
To support IndexNow, Microsoft launched a plugin for WordPress that submits the URLs via the IndexNow API. Cloudflare, last year, launched Crawler Hints, a free service that improves the efficiency of the traffic that comes from web crawlers. When Cloudflare users activate the Crawler Hints (in Cache), their websites have the urls submitted via IndexNow.
