Pinterest this month announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire THE YES, a shopping platform for fashion. Pinterest believes the acquisition of THE YES will accelerate Pinterest’s vision to be the home of taste-driven shopping.
THE YES enables users to shop via a personalized feed based on the user’s active input on brand, style, and size.
According to Pinterest, THE YES has hundreds of brand merchants connected to its platform. THE YES has also built a fashion taxonomy that uses human expertise and machine learning to power an algorithm in fashion.
THE YES was founded in 2018 by CEO Julie Bornstein and the CTO Amit Aggarwal. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed but THE YES team will join Pinterest following acquisition.
Pinterest plans to sunset the THE YES app and website to allow the merged teams to focus on technology integration and evolving Pinterest’s shopping vision. Pinterest expects the transaction to close in the second quarter of 2022.
